Performance Under Pressure
Practical skills for teams
Pressure changes how we think, communicate and behave.
When demands increase, even experienced people can become less flexible - rushing decisions, losing perspective, avoiding difficult conversations or falling back on familiar habits that don't always help.
Our Performance Under Pressure training develops the skills individuals and teams need to respond more effectively.
Our programmes build the ability to stay aware, adapt to what's happening and take effective action, even when circumstances are difficult.
The aim isn't to remove pressure. It's to build the capability to work well within it.
From individual skills to team capability
Teams don't experience pressure - people do.
But how individuals respond under pressure shapes what happens around them.
How we communicate, make decisions, respond to mistakes, deal with uncertainty and interact with colleagues all contribute to how effectively a team functions.
Our training starts by developing individual behavioural skills and then explores how those skills show up collectively.
Participants learn to recognise their own responses under pressure, create space before reacting, stay engaged with what is happening and choose actions that support both individual effectiveness and team performance.

How the Bonmotus approach works
Our programs develop three core behavioural capabilities
Create space
Develop the awareness to notice reactions without immediately being driven by them.
Stay present
Maintain attention, perspective and awareness of what's happening around you and within you.
Do what counts
Choose actions based on what the situation requires and what matters, rather than simply reacting to discomfort or pressure.
Together, these skills help people become more effective in how they respond - and more effective in how they work with others.
The training
These skills are trained experientially, not taught theoretically, and are immediately applicable to real work challenges.

What does this look like?
The training can help individuals and teams:
-
maintain clearer thinking when demands increase
-
recognise unhelpful patterns before they drive behaviour
-
respond rather than react to difficult situations
-
communicate more effectively when pressure is high
-
adapt when circumstances or priorities change
-
stay connected to shared priorities
-
recover more effectively from setbacks and mistakes
-
develop a shared language for recognising and responding to pressure
